In South Sudan, providing cattle as a dowry is a requirement that continues till this day. The quantity required varies from family to family and averages to about 150 per groom. Dozens of cattle are however out of reach for many men without means.

Back on the road, following from part 1 where delved into the unique value of cattle, join us as we continue to explore the complex role of livestock in this country. While cattle dowries are deeply rooted in South Sudanese culture, their impact on individuals and communities is often challenging!
